How Twitter Works

Twitter can be accessed through its website, mobile application software, email or via SMS (text messages) available in some countries. Twitter enables you to post and to read other users updates when you are following them. It is a service for family, friends, coworkers, celebrities, brands and sport teams to easily communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent messages in real-time.

Registration is done at Twitter sign up page and afterward you can start tweeting. Twitter is all about ‘tweeting’ which is about broadcasting short burst messages (limited to 140 characters) to the world, expressing yourself in words with the hope that your messages are useful and interesting to someone.

Twitter is available in multilingual and users are able to post tweets that can be attached with photos, videos and links.

These tweets are posted via your Twitter username which also contains your profile, followers, and the people you are following. Tweets posted by default are visible to the public and are searchable on Twitter by everyone except you make some changes in your privacy setting; restricting delivery to only your circle of friends.

Twitter is also about discovering fascinating people from all over the world and getting updated with trending topics or rumors and so on. It allows you to search for people by their name or registered username, import friends from other social networks, or invite friends via email.

Twitter is also made accessible by third-party applications such as Ubertwitter, Tweetdeck, Tweetie, Twitterrific, and so on to post and read other users messages.
