I recently ordered the YU Yureka from Amazon and was delighted to get my hands on it. The phone is very light and is quite feature rich. At the same time, one of my friends came for a visit with his new Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G. As you can guess, a long debate started on the topic – which one is the best Smartphone under INR 10,000
We decided to compare everything between the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and the YU Yureka in order to come to a conclusion. In the end we had a winner. Let’s jump straight to the unbiased comparison.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G Vs YU Yureka
As I have mentioned earlier, the YU Yureka is a very lightweight and slim device. It weighs only 155 grammes and is 8.8 mm thick. The Redmi Note 4G is bulkier at 185 grammes and 9.5 mm in thickness. With the Yureka, the front and back panel have a different feel as compared to the Note 4G which is uniformly textured. Although the Redmi Note 4G’s red touch buttons are more striking, the YU Yureka is the winner in this category as it is very lightweight.
Both the Redmi Note 4G and the YU Yureka boast of a 5.5 inch display with a resolution of 720p, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear and a 5MP front camera respectively. The major difference is that the Yureka is powered by a 64-bit octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, while the Xiaomi Note 4G is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor. The YU Yureka supports dual SIM connectivity while the Note 4G is a single SIM phone. Both the phones support 4G.
Yureka has more storage, 16GB as compared to 8GB of the Note 4G. Expandable memory, however is limited to 32 GB in the Yureka while the Note 4G can be expanded up to 64 GB. The Note 4G has a 3100 mAh battery against the 2500 mAh battery on the Yureka. Overall, the YU Yureka looks the better Smartphone because of the 64-bit octa core processor and dual SIM connectivity.
Even though both the Smartphone’s have similar cameras, the picture quality of the Note 4G was a little better than the YU Yureka. The Yureka comes with AudioFX controls, however the Note 4G delivers better sound quality. Display is quite good on both the devices. Redmi Note 4G wins in this category by a small margin.
Winner: Redmi Note 4G
Software and UI
This is a tricky one – Cyanogen Vs MIUI. I love the Cyanogen on the YU Yureka which gives me the freedom to customize almost everything on my phone. While the geeks will love this feature, the non-geeks will definitely like the more colourful MIUI on the Redmi Note 4G which is easier on the eye and offers a few handy features. One of them being the option to launch the torch from the lock screen by long pressing the home key. Both the phones run on Android Kitkat 4.4. Considering the fact that only a few people will go ahead with customizing fonts, icons and everything else, Redmi Note 4G is the winner in this category.
Winner: Redmi Note 4G
This is a no-brainer. The YU Yureka steals the show with its 64-bit octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor which can easily handle HD gaming and multitasking. The battery life of the Yureka is not that great though and you need to recharge the phone at the end of the day. The 3100 mAh battery life on the Note 4G will easily last the entire day.
Value for Money
