IT Industry Meetups You Should Attend in Bangalore

December 30, 2019 by Amey Leave a Comment

Bangalore, being the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka is one of the fastest-growing cities in the southern part of the nation. It is also known as “The Garden City of India” or “Pensioner’s Paradise“. For the past two decades, several multinational software companies like Infosys, TCS, Accenture, and Capgemini have opened offices here. Some also call this city as the Silicon Valley of India. In this post, I have shared some IT industry meetups that an IT professional should attend in Bangalore.

Here Are the IT Industry Meetups You Should Attend in Bangalore

1) Bangalore Twitter Developer Community

For Java and JS developers, Twitter has an API that allows you to read and write Twitter data with code. The API is created using REST technology; quite popular and well-known within the Java community. The Bangalore twitter developer community has around 500 members and is quite active in the Jayamahal Extension area. They conduct free of cost meetups in a place called GreyNubo Consulting LLP.

2) Bangalore Open Source Meetup Group

Do you work with open-source software technology like Java, Dot Net, JS or WordPress? If yes, then Bangalore open source meetup group os the right place to hang out on weekends. The organizer also conducts regular webinars for those who stay in other cities. Recently, they had a webinar on the roles and responsibilities of an AWS solutions architect.

3) Future of Work & Freelancing in Software Industry | BLR

Interested in switching from a regular 9-5 job to full-time or part-time freelancing? This meetup group is run by Bala and Srikanth who are interested in bringing software freelancers together in Bangalore. Any software professional with more than 5 years of work experience is encouraged to attend their events. As the name suggests, they talk about the future of work in India, ways to earn money on the side and, obviously, on topics related to technology.

4) React Native Bangalore Meetup

According to the Stack Overflow Developer Survey 2019, JavaScript is the most popular programming language in the world. For the past 2 decades, several JS frameworks like Angular, Node JS, and Backbone Js have made way in the web development market. However, React JS stands out from the rest. In case you are interested in meeting other React JS developers in Bangalore, join this community for free.

5) Software Architects Bangalore

For more experienced software professionals in Bangalore, there is a community of over 5000 people who meet regularly to discuss and share their knowledge about Software Architecture and related topics. Usually, they conduct their events in Devon Software Services, Embassy Tech Village, Devarabeesanahalli, Bangalore. You can expect a huge crowd of 300-400 architects on each of their events.

Conclusion

I know some of the meetup groups I mentioned in this post won’t necessarily conduct events in your region, you can search for other groups on meetup.com for more options. For the past two decades, the tech community in Bangalore has been on a rise. So, it is expected that you will find a group near your residence.
