Google Text-to-Speech Engine powers applications to read the text on your screen aloud.This comes in very handy while reading books, to hear the exact pronunciations when using translation, to read out directions in Navigation and for a variety of different applications.
Google Text-to-Speech engine is now available for download on the Google Play store for all android device running 4.0.3 or higher.
Be advised that this is not a new application. Google Text-to-Speech engine comes built-in for Nexus devices and it cannot be uninstalled. Some Android devices, like those from Samsung come with their own Test-to-Speech engine built-in to the system. People who do not like the default TTS engine can now download Google Text-to-Speech which is available for free download on the Google Play store.
To enable Google Text-to-Speech engine on your android device, go to Settings Screen.
Navigate to Language and Input > Text-to-speech output
Select Google Text-to-speech Engine as your preferred engine.
Languages supported are English (United Kingdom), English (United States), French, German, Italian, Korean and Spanish.
