Fitness trackers are becoming very popular now a days. These fitness trackers can be found in the form of wristband pedometers which are a great way to monitor you exercise and daily activities. I recently came across one such fitness device, Fitbit Flex. Flex is an older model which has been replaced by a newer one.
The Fitbit Flex is like a rubbery wristband, thinner than a wrist watch with a simple push-in strap. It is very light, water-resistant and is available in ten different colors. The rubbery straps can be replaced if they are worn out.
Fitbit Flex does not have a full-fledged display. The only display available is a little rectangular translucent strip. This showcases 5 little white lights that can be used to monitor your daily goal. However, you can connect your Flex to a Smartphone via Bluetooth or to a computer with a USB dongle to get the most out of it.
When the Fitbit Flex is connected to an external device, it sends data which can be used to check your activity. One good thing about the bluetooth connectivity is that it consumes very less power and will not drain your battery quickly. Fitbit Flex can easily last for 4-5 days off a single full charge. You can charge the device via USB.
The Fitbit Flex gives you a pretty consistent statistics of your activity. It is not 100% accurate, however you can get a decent idea of your activity relative to your norm. You also have the Fitbit dashboard that can be used to keep a record of your activity. You can log in your personal details and record each activity.
The Fitbit Flex also tracks your movement while are asleep. This is a separate mode that can be set by tapping on the tracker. This mode is facilitated by the inbuilt accelerometer. The Fitbit Flex also acts as an alarm clock thanks to the tiny motor that is present in the device. You can set up the alarm’s time from the tracker.
The Fitbit Flex is reasonably priced, is very lightweight and water-resistant. However, it lacks a lot of key features that are available in wrist bands in the similar price range. Also, if you are not familiar with the device, it can be tricky to use. You can check out the Fitbit Flex manual for instructions on how to use the device.
