Whenever you install a new app on your Android device, the app shortcut is automatically created on your home screen. This is a default setting in the Google Play Store. Creation of app shortcut on the home screen helps in easy navigation.
However, if you want to stop app shortcuts from being created on your home screen, you have the choice to turn off this feature from the Play Store.
How to disable auto creation of app shortcuts on the home screen
Launch the Google Play Store and tap on Menu button which is located at the top left of your screen.
Tap on the ‘Settings’ option from the drop-down menu.
Under the General section, you will notice the ‘Add icon to Home screen’ option. App shortcuts will be automatically created if this option is selected. To prevent automatic creation of app shortcuts on your Android device, you need to uncheck this option.
Now, when you install a new app on your Android device, app shortcuts will not be created automatically. You can always change the settings as per your preference.
