Now you can make voice calls using WhatsApp, as the world’s most popular instant messaging app has finally integrated the voice call functionality. If you still don’t have access to WhatsApp’s voice call feature, do not worry. The added functionality is slowly being rolled out in the form of updates. Keep calm and wait for the update.
The first look of the voice call functionality in WhatsApp was showcases by a Reddit user (pradnesh07). The screenshots show a call tab which has been integrated in the app as well as the WhatsApp call in action.
To use the new feature you can download the latest version of WhatsApp (v2.11.508) and sideload it. Once you are done with the installation, you need to get yourself an invitation from someone who already has the new feature. If you do not want to go through all the trouble, just wait for WhatsApp to update the app with the new voice call feature.
Also, there are reports that WhatsApp voice calls are only supported in Android 4.4 KitKat and higher. It remains to be seen if this is actually true. Lollipop based Smartphone’s are the one’s that have reported the most success.
Do let us know if you guys have received the WhatsApp voice call feature update. We would love to get an invite
